I think the image was taken in the past 10 years as the design of the room and the furniture has quite a modern feel.

I would guess in either the USA, the UK or Australia as the apartment seems quite modern.

Although the boxers are not centre frame they draw attention and seem to be the main focus point of the photo, the rest of the frame is filled with a rather plain apartment with modern furniture.

They are not engaged with the camera/photographer directly but could be posing for the camera.
What, if any directions do you think the photographer may have given to the subject(s) of the photograph?
The photographer may have told the subjects to pose in a boxing stance in a certain position on the floor.
What do you believe the photographer wants, you, the viewer to take from the image?
I believe that the photographer wants the viewer to reflect on the boxers fighting in the apartment as possibly a metaphor for a broken home.
